Grandfather Scores $100K Lottery Win in Germantown

A Germantown man recently claimed $100,060 in Maryland Lottery winnings after two of his Bonus Match 5 tickets matched the winning numbers in the same drawing.

According to MD Lottery, the longtime lottery player and grandfather claimed the prize on March 3 at Maryland Lottery headquarters in Baltimore. The win came from two $50,000 prizes on a doubled number combination, along with smaller matches totaling $60. The winner said he regularly uses numbers connected to his grandchildren, including his granddaughter’s birthdate and birth weight.

This was not the player’s first major win. He previously claimed a $50,000 Bonus Match 5 prize in 2016. The retired insurance adjuster said he discovered the latest win at home and shared the news with his wife and daughter. The winning ticket was purchased at the Town Center Sunoco, 19738 Germantown Road in Germantown, which will receive a $500 bonus from the Maryland Lottery.
