Summary of Events by MCPD:

“The following is a brief summary of events regarding a barricaded person call in the 14100 block of Punch Street.

On Sunday, March 15, 2026, at approximately 3:33 p.m., 4th District officers responded to the location for a domestic related incident that led to 29-year-old Daniel Abraha barricading himself inside the residence.

The Emergency Response Team (ERT) responded.

To resolve the situation peacefully, negotiators attempted to speak for hours with Abraha, who was alone inside the residence and refused to comply with officers’ requests to speak with them or their commands to leave the house.

After an extended period of attempted negotiations, officers assigned to the SWAT team entered the residence and took Abraha into custody at approximately 9:30 p.m.

He is charged with first-degree assault and malicious destruction of property. Additional charges are pending.”
