Montgomery County Councilmember At-Large Laurie-Anne Sayles has been named to The Daily Record’s 2026 Maryland’s Top 100 Women list, marking her second time receiving the recognition after first being honored in 2018. The award recognizes women across the state for professional achievement, leadership, and community impact.
Sayles, who was elected to the Montgomery County Council in 2022, currently serves as chair of the Council’s Health and Human Services Committee and as a member of the Economic Development Committee. She previously served on the Gaithersburg City Council, where she became the first Black person elected to that body. Officials said the honorees will be recognized at an event scheduled for May 4 at SECU Arena at Towson University.
