A Maryland Lottery player won a $1 million prize on a scratch-off ticket purchased at a Royal Farms in Forest Hill.
The player, who has been playing Lottery games for more than 30 years, had previously won prizes of $50,000 twice and $10,000 just weeks earlier, according to Lottery officials. He used winnings from earlier tickets that day to continue purchasing additional scratch-offs before ultimately winning the top prize.
The winner said he plans to use the money to pay off his mortgage and set aside funds for his children. The Royal Farms store that sold the ticket will receive a $1,000 bonus.
