Montgomery County to Sweep 4,100 Lane Miles of Roads This Spring

The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will begin its annual street sweeping program in the first week of April, with work continuing through July across approximately 4,100 lane miles of residential roads.

Officials said “No Parking” signs will be posted in advance, and while vehicles will not be towed, residents are encouraged to move cars so crews can fully clear debris, salt, and sediment from curbs and gutters.

MCDOT said the program helps reduce roadway damage and prevent debris from entering storm drains and local waterways, particularly after a winter with frequent snow and ice treatments. Residents can view approximate sweeping schedules online, though dates may shift due to weather conditions.
