Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a fire Monday afternoon at the Gateway Apartments in Gaithersburg.
According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, around 2:30 pm, crews were dispatched to 919 Clopper Road for a reported apartment fire. Firefighters located the fire in the kitchen of a second-floor unit in the three-story building and were able to extinguish it.
Approximately 50 firefighters responded to the scene. No additional information on injuries or displacement has been released. We will provide an update if additional verified information becomes available.
