Montgomery County police are asking for the public’s help in identifying two suspects involved in an attempted armed robbery in Bethesda.
According to detectives from the 2nd District Investigative Section, the incident occurred on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at approximately 8 pm in the parking lot of the AMC Theater at Montgomery Mall in the 7100 block of Democracy Boulevard.
Police say two male suspects approached two victims who were getting into a Toyota Corolla. One of the suspects was armed with a handgun equipped with a green laser and attempted to rob one of the victims of his sneakers at gunpoint. When one of the victims called 911, the suspects fled the scene.
Both suspects are described as Hispanic males. One was wearing a black mask, a black Moose Knuckles jacket with white fur trim, and blue jeans. The second suspect was also wearing a black Moose Knuckles jacket with white fur trim and black pants.
