The event coincides with Black Maternal Health Week and National Public Health Week and will include speakers, panel discussions, and participation from more than 20 community organizations.
Officials say the event aims to address ongoing disparities in maternal and infant health, noting that Black births accounted for a disproportionate share of fetal and infant losses in the County. The program will focus on education, advocacy, and connecting families with services related to prenatal care, mental health, and community support.
The event will feature children’s activities, prizes, and complimentary refreshments. Free child care will be available for children ages 2 to 10. Registration is required and available on the “Right from the Start” Eventbrite page.
