The former Home Depot Design Center location at Montrose Crossing Shopping Center is now the focus of a large liquidation auction following its permanent closure in January.
The showroom, located at 12087 Rockville Pike, originally opened in September 2020. Design Centers operate as a specialized retail concept separate from traditional Home Depot stores, offering design-focused selections for kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, and appliances.
Grafe Auction is hosting the sale, which includes more than 850 lots of high-end home goods, appliances, cabinetry, and fixtures. A public preview and inspection is scheduled for April 13 from 12 pm to 6 pm, giving potential buyers the opportunity to view items in person before bidding. The auction is expected to attract homeowners, designers, and contractors looking to purchase premium materials at reduced prices.
According to the auction listing, the catalog features a wide range of professional-grade brands, including Thermador, Gaggenau, Miele, Bosch, and Smeg. Available items include dual-fuel ranges, built-in espresso machines, refrigeration systems, designer cabinetry, and lighting fixtures. Additional featured brands include Kohler, Grohe, and Rohl, along with vanities, chandeliers, and complete kitchen setups.
