Montgomery County has selected Leadership Montgomery to support a new initiative led by the County’s Business Center to help local businesses adapt to changes in federal procurement, funding and policy.
Officials said recent shifts in contracting rules, grants and spending priorities have impacted businesses and nonprofits that rely on federal funding.
The partnership will include a business conference, monthly training sessions and a year-long cohort program to support entrepreneurs, small businesses and nonprofits. County Executive Marc Elrich said the effort aims to help organizations navigate regulatory changes and remain competitive.
As part of the initiative, Leadership Montgomery will host the LEAD Forum: Business Resilience on Thursday, April 30 from 830 am to 5 pm at Silver Spring Civic Building. The conference will feature speakers, workshops and networking opportunities, with 200 to 300 attendees expected. Registration is open, with tickets priced at $50 and $10 for federal workers.
