Maryland Collects $27.6M in Cannabis Tax Revenue in Latest Quarter

Maryland collected more than $27.6 million in cannabis sales tax revenue between October and December 2025, according to the Office of the Comptroller, with the largest share generated in the Central Region (Baltimore Metro).

The 12% tax on adult-use cannabis, which took effect July 1, 2025, supports the state’s General Fund and several programs established under the Cannabis Reform Act.

Revenue was distributed across multiple initiatives, including the General Fund, the Maryland Cannabis Administration, and the Community Reinvestment and Repair Fund, which supports communities disproportionately impacted by past cannabis enforcement. Additional funds were allocated to local governments, public health programs, and business assistance efforts aimed at supporting small and minority-owned cannabis businesses.
