Plaza Mexico at the North Pointe at Flower Hill development in Gaithersburg is moving closer to opening, with its liquor license hearing scheduled before Montgomery County Alcohol Beverage Services on Thursday, May 21. The hearing marks a key step in the approval process for the new restaurant.
The restaurant, which operates several popular Mexican restaurants in the region, is known for its colorful décor, lively atmosphere, and broad menu of classics like quesadillas, nachos, burritos, and churros. The upcoming Gaithersburg location will add a rooftop bar component, bringing a new experience to the Flower Hill area. In November the restaurant received approval of its building permit, valued at $425,486 according to Maryland Newsletters.
“For years, Plaza Mexico Restaurants have been serving up all your Mexican food favorites all day long,” the restaurant group says. “We invite you to visit our family restaurant with your own family. Our colorful décor and fun atmosphere makes visiting our restaurant a treat every time. Whether you indulge in our delicious Mexican food or have a cold cerveza or margarita at the bar, you’re sure to enjoy your experience from the moment you walk through the door.”
Plaza Mexico currently operates locations in Sterling, Va., and two in Frederick, Md. The restaurant is targeting an early summer opening.
