A Silver Spring construction worker won a $100,000 top prize on a Maryland Lottery scratch-off after stopping for gas at a 7-Eleven near Pikesville, MD.
According to the Maryland Lottery, the man regularly purchases scratch-offs during gas station visits and had recently won about $1,000 over several weeks before revealing the winning ticket during a stop at the 7-Eleven located at 1801 Reisterstown Road.
The winner claimed the prize on May 8 at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore and said he is considering using the money to purchase land in his native El Salvador. Lottery officials said the winning ticket was the first top prize claimed from the scratch-off since the game launched in April. The 7-Eleven that sold the ticket will receive a $1,000 bonus.
