Montgomery County Opening Registration For Rare Whiskey Sales Event

Montgomery County Alcohol Beverage Services (ABS) will open registration on Monday, June 1, for a limited-availability whiskey sales event featuring more than 150 highly sought-after bottles.

Registration opens at 9 am through the ABS website and will remain open until all slots are filled. Participants must be 21 or older, though there are no residency requirements. According to ABS, entry numbers will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis after registration is completed.

The list of available bottles, quantities, and winning entry numbers with corresponding entry times will be posted at noon on Wednesday, June 3. Bottle pickup is scheduled for Wednesday, June 10, at the Gaithersburg Square Oak Barrel & Vine store located at 512 N. Frederick Avenue in Gaithersburg. Pickup times will begin at 10 am in staggered intervals, and participants will be allowed to purchase one bottle during their assigned time slot.

ABS Retail Chief John Donovan said the event is intended to give customers an opportunity to purchase rare whiskey products at equitable prices. ABS operates 27 retail stores throughout Montgomery County and oversees alcohol wholesaling, licensing, enforcement, and education for more than 1,000 businesses.
