Bad Influence to Be Inducted Into Maryland Entertainment Hall of Fame

Montgomery County-based blues and roots rock band Bad Influence has been selected for induction into the Maryland Entertainment Hall of Fame. The honor recognizes the band’s nearly 40-year contribution to the regional music scene and its longstanding presence throughout Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia.

The induction ceremony will take place on Sunday, June 28, at 2 p.m. at Superior Hall in Baltimore. Formed in 1988, Bad Influence is known for blending Chicago blues, swing and roots rock, and has built a loyal following through decades of live performances and recordings. The band’s longtime lineup has included Michael Tash, Roger Edsall and Bob Mallardi, along with David Thaler and Joe Wells, while also recognizing the contributions of former members who helped shape the group’s history.

“We are incredibly honored and humbled by this induction,” said Michael Tash, guitarist and founding member of Bad Influence. “For us, it has always been about playing the blues, doing our own thing and connecting with people through the music. To be recognized alongside so many incredible Maryland music icons is a milestone we won’t forget, and we share this honor completely with our fans who have supported us every step of the way.”

The Maryland Entertainment Hall of Fame recognizes musicians, bands and entertainment professionals who have made lasting contributions to Maryland’s cultural and musical heritage.
