A McLean, VA, resident claimed a $50,000 lottery prize after purchasing a $50,000 Cash scratch-off ticket at Brighton Beer & Wine in Gaithersburg.
According to MD Lottery, the man said he stopped at the store after grocery shopping and decided to buy the $20 scratch-off game. After scanning the ticket, he discovered he had won the game’s top prize.
The winner claimed the prize on June 11 and said he plans to use the money for a vacation, a donation to his church, dinners with friends and savings. Brighton Beer & Wine, located at 225 Muddy Branch Road, will receive a $500 bonus from the Maryland Lottery for selling the winning ticket.
