Maryland Resident Diagnosed With Measles After International Travel

The Maryland Department of Health has confirmed a measles case in a Maryland National Capital Region resident who recently traveled internationally, marking the state’s fourth reported case of 2026.

Health officials say anyone who was at Dulles International Airport between 6 a.m. and 11 a.m. on June 17 or at Mary’s Center Adams Morgan Clinic in Washington, D.C., between 4 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. that day may have been exposed.

Officials are urging potentially exposed individuals to monitor for symptoms for 21 days and ensure they are up to date on their MMR vaccinations. Measles is highly contagious and can spread through the air for up to two hours after an infected person leaves an area.
