K-Wave opened its first Maryland location on Saturday at 5534 Randolph Road in Rockville’s Montrose Shopping Center, drawing big crowds and long lines that stretched through parts of the shopping center.
The nearly 3,000-square-foot Rockville store is K-Wave’s second brick-and-mortar location, following the opening of its Centreville, Virginia, store in late 2024. The new Maryland location features K-Pop merchandise, K-beauty products, stationery, exclusive items, claw machines, gachapon, DIY deco stations and products created by local artists and K-Pop fans. The popular K-Pop retailer had originally planned to open in May but postponed its debut while awaiting final county permits and approvals. Earlier this month, the company announced that the delays were beyond its control and promised to share a new opening date once all required approvals had been secured.
