The Montgomery County Council will convene as the Board of Health on Tuesday, June 30, to receive its semi-annual update on public health issues affecting county residents.
During the briefing, Montgomery County Health Officer Dr. Kisha Davis will provide updates on a range of topics, including summer safety, Men’s Health Month, World Sickle Cell Day, Pride Month, Juneteenth and National HIV Testing Day. The presentation will also include information about the recent PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) advisory issued by the Maryland Department of the Environment for portions of the Muddy Branch watershed and surrounding ponds in the North Potomac area.
The Council meeting, which begins at 9:30 a.m., will also include a public hearing on proposed amendments to the County’s Comprehensive Water Supply and Sewerage Systems Plan.
