Free Community Health Fair Coming to Wheaton on July 7

A new nonprofit focused on expanding access to health care and support services will officially launch in Montgomery County with a community health fair in Wheaton on Tuesday, July 7.

WellTogether will host the free event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Marian Fryer Town Plaza, located at 2424 Reedie Drive. Montgomery County Councilmember Laurie-Anne Sayles is scheduled to deliver remarks at 11 a.m. The event will feature more than 20 community partners and showcase WellTogether’s mobile clinic, which the organization plans to use to bring health care services directly into underserved communities.

Attendees will have access to a range of free health screenings, including blood pressure checks, vision screenings, diabetes testing, cholesterol panels, liver function tests, infectious disease screenings, and more. The event will also offer assistance with Medicaid, the Children’s Health Insurance Program, SNAP benefits, and other public assistance programs.

Additional services and resources will include maternal and child health information, mental health support, chronic disease management, WIC services, senior wellness resources, legal assistance, workforce training opportunities, ESL class information, and multilingual support. Participating organizations include CASA, the Asian American Health Initiative, CCI Health Services, Health Betterment Initiative, and other local community partners.

“WellTogether exists to bring care, support, and resources closer to the people and communities who need them most,” said WellTogether Director Tom Bever. “This launch is about building trust and meeting people where they are with dignity, compassion, and real help.”
