Community Rallies to Support Family of Beloved Restaurant Employee

The community is coming together to support the family of Wilber, a longtime restaurant employee remembered for his dedication, kindness and years of service at Alatri Bros. and its predecessor, Mia’s Pizza. A GoFundMe has been launched by his sister to help cover the costs of returning him to his native El Salvador for burial.

In a message shared on social media, Alatri Bros. said Wilber had worked at the Cordell Avenue location for many years, even before the Pietrobono family opened the pizzeria in 2017. The restaurant described him as a talented chef who treated the business as if it were his own, praising his work ethic, loyalty and joyful personality.

Restaurant owners Roberto and Riccardo Pietrobono said Wilber’s impact on the team will never be forgotten and announced they are planning a fundraiser of their own to support his family. Community members who wish to help are encouraged to donate to the GoFundMe or share the fundraiser as the family works to bring Wilber home to El Salvador.
