Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to the 1900 block of Brighton Dam Road near Brookville Tuesday night after a vehicle became stranded in floodwaters caused by the Hawlings River overflowing during heavy rain.
According to MCFRS spokesperson David Pazos, crews rescued an adult woman from approximately two feet of water. She was uninjured and declined medical transport. The vehicle remained in the floodwater overnight, and Brighton Dam Road remains closed as crews clear debris and sediment and work to safely reopen the roadway.
