A Maryland Lottery player is waking up $1 million richer after purchasing a winning Powerball ticket for Saturday night’s drawing at the 7-Eleven located at 8905 Rhode Island Avenue in College Park.
The ticket matched the first five winning numbers, 6, 17, 27, 48 and 50, but missed the Powerball number, 5, falling one number short of the jackpot. Another Maryland ticket sold at Max Liquors in Catonsville won $50,000 by matching four white balls and the Powerball.
The College Park prize marks the second consecutive Powerball drawing to produce a $1 million winner in Maryland. A $1 million ticket was also sold for the July 29 drawing at a Royal Farms in Odenton.
In total, 30,658 Maryland Powerball tickets won prizes in Saturday night’s drawing. With no jackpot winner, the estimated jackpot for Monday night’s drawing has climbed to $748 million, with an estimated cash value of $325.1 million. The Powerball jackpot has been rolling since it was last won on May 2.
