More than a decade after its final broadcast, the team behind Inside the Squared Circle recently reunited for a special reunion, bringing together many of the personalities who helped make the program a local favorite among professional wrestling fans.
Inside the Squared Circle aired in Montgomery County from 1989 through 2014. The show began as a radio program on a small AM station on Watkins Mill Road in Gaithersburg before moving to Montgomery County Cable Access television in 1992.
Long before wrestling news became available online, Inside the Squared Circle served as a go-to source for backstage news, interviews, and insider coverage. Over the years, the program featured interviews with some of professional wrestling’s biggest names, including “Macho Man” Randy Savage, Ric Flair, The Ultimate Warrior, and Triple H.
Hosted throughout its entire run by “Will the Worm” Dunham, the show also featured a cast of memorable personalities including “Massive” Mike, “Charmin” Chuckie, The X-Man, “Dirty” Dick, Dr. C, Ernest L. Stanley, and Brutally Frank.
For many wrestling fans who grew up in Montgomery County during the 1980s and 1990s, the show became a weekly tradition and remains a nostalgic part of the area’s local television history. The recent reunion gave the longtime hosts and contributors an opportunity to reconnect and celebrate the program’s legacy more than 35 years after it first debuted. The special can be viewed on the ITSC Facebook page.
