One Dead, Several Injured Following Rollover Collision With Entrapment

MCPD UPDATE: Clopper Road collision. Two vehicle collision with a total of 8 involved. One adult male confirmed dead on scene. Seven juveniles in a second vehicle all transported to area hospitals with varying injuries. Two in critical condition. Juveniles in the second vehicle between ages 12-15.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a collision at Clopper Road at Great Seneca Highway in Germantown on Tuesday morning.

According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, the collision involved two vehicles, including one that overturned and caught fire. Firefighters quickly extinguished the small vehicle fire while rescue crews worked to free two trapped occupants from the vehicles. At least seven patients are being evaluated by EMS personnel, with several reported to have traumatic injuries.

Approximately 40 MCFRS rescue workers responded to the scene. Clopper Road is closed at Great Seneca Highway as crews continue their response and investigation. Drivers are urged to avoid the area and expect significant traffic delays. We will provide updates as additional information becomes available.
