Governor Wes Moore announced Friday that the Maryland Department of Human Services has launched a new interactive tool connecting Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program customers with workforce development and job training opportunities across the state.
The mobile-friendly tool allows SNAP customers to search for Employment and Training providers by location and industry. Maryland is partnering with a record 46 providers in 2026, a 48% increase, with up to $30 million being invested in the program.
Participants can access free training and educational programs, along with services such as transportation assistance, work clothing and safety equipment, resume building and job search assistance.
The state said the expanded network is intended in part to help Marylanders navigate new federal SNAP requirements. Maryland has also updated its SNAP renewal process, contacted 14,000 customers who lost benefits due to new federal paperwork requirements and introduced chip-and-tap EBT cards in July.
According to the Moore administration, SNAP participation in Maryland has declined less sharply than in most other states as new federal requirements have taken effect.
