Maryland Sports Betting Generates $8.4 Million for State in July

Maryland’s sports wagering market generated more than $8.4 million in contributions to the state in July, the first month of Fiscal Year 2027, according to Maryland Lottery and Gaming.

The $8,452,763 in state contributions represented a 16.6% increase from July 2025, when sports wagering generated approximately $7.25 million. Bettors wagered more than $496.4 million during July and won back approximately $440.9 million in prizes. Sportsbook operators held 11.2% of the total amount wagered.

Nearly $6.4 million of July’s state contributions went to the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future Fund, which supports public education programs. Since sports wagering launched in Maryland, more than $283.4 million has been contributed to the Blueprint Fund. An additional approximately $2.1 million from mobile sports wagering proceeds went to Maryland’s General Fund during July.
