A Hyattsville man won $50,000 on a scratch-off ticket purchased at Hillandale Beer & Wine at 10117 New Hampshire Avenue.
According to MD Lottery, the retired construction worker told Lottery officials that he didn’t see any winning numbers after scratching his 20X the Cash ticket, so he decided to scan it. He was surprised to discover the ticket was worth $50,000. The Prince George’s County resident said he plans to put some of the winnings toward purchasing a car and may use the remainder to pay down his mortgage.
Hillandale Beer & Wine will receive a $500 bonus from the Maryland Lottery for selling the winning ticket.
