The Bethesda Row Arts Festival will return Sept. 12-13, bringing nearly 200 artists from the D.C. area and across the country to downtown Bethesda for one of the region’s largest outdoor art shows.
Now in its 28th year, the free festival will transform five blocks of Woodmont and Bethesda avenues, Elm Street and Bethesda Lane into an outdoor art gallery. Organizers expect more than 30,000 visitors over the two-day event.
Artists will showcase and sell works across 16 disciplines, including ceramics, drawing, fiber, glass, printmaking, jewelry, metalwork, painting, photography and sculpture. Seventy artists will be new to the festival this year, while nearly a quarter of participating artists live within an hour of Bethesda.
Artists are selected through a juried process and will compete for cash prizes of up to $2,000.
“Art festivals like Bethesda Row Arts Festival allow people to bring meaning to the items that make their space a home,” Festival Director Jon Gann said. “Come meet the artist behind the art that inspires you.”
The festival will take place rain or shine from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13. Admission is free and the event is family-friendly.
