Montgomery County Police 2nd District officers responded at approximately 6:59 a.m. Monday for a reported non-contact shooting near the 4400 block of East West Highway in Bethesda.
Police said the scene is secure and there is no threat to the community. In an update shared at 8:40am, MCPD stated that the incident is being investigated as an accidental discharge.
Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School is located nearby at 4301 East-West Highway.
