Gina’s Cucina Siciliana Moves Closer to Opening in Kentlands

Gina’s Cucina Siciliana is moving closer to opening its doors at 640 Center Point Way in Gaithersburg’s Kentlands, with another step in the process scheduled for this fall.

The restaurant is scheduled for a liquor license hearing with Montgomery County Alcohol Beverage Services (ABS) on Thursday, October 1. An opening date has not yet been announced.

Gina’s Cucina Siciliana will occupy the former Cinco de Mayo space, which closed in September 2025. The restaurant will focus on recipes originating from the Sicilian regions of Agrigento and Messina while incorporating the broader culinary influences of Sicily.

The concept was inspired by family recipes passed down by Gina, a Sicilian mother and grandmother who died in 2014. Her son began preparing more than 45 of her recipes to help his daughters connect with their grandmother, eventually leading to plans for the restaurant.

The menu is expected to feature Sicilian dishes including arancini, spiedini, pasta puttanesca, chicken marsala, chicken piccata, Sicilian pizza, focaccia and a variety of pasta dishes.
