The U.S. Postal Service will debut a new stamp supporting fentanyl awareness during a first-day-of-issue ceremony at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda on Tuesday, October 6.
The “Know the Facts About Fentanyl” semipostal stamp is designed to raise money for the National Institute on Drug Abuse, part of NIH, to support research and awareness efforts related to the overdose epidemic. USPS said the stamp will also carry a message focused on hope, healing and recovery.
The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. at the Masur Auditorium on the NIH campus at 9000 Rockville Pike. Speakers are scheduled to include USPS Government Relations and Public Policy Vice President Peter Pastre, NIH Director Dr. Jay Bhattacharya and National Institute on Drug Abuse Director Dr. Nora Volkow.
