Maryland’s sports wagering market generated more than $7 million in contributions to the state during August 2026, according to the latest figures from Maryland Lottery and Gaming.
Sports bettors wagered $465.9 million during the month and won back approximately $420.7 million in prizes. Sportsbook operators held $45.3 million, or 9.7% of the total amount wagered.
Of the $7,018,667 contributed to the state, approximately $5.28 million went to public education programs supported by the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future Fund, while another $1.73 million in proceeds from mobile sports wagering went to the state’s General Fund.
Through the first two months of Fiscal Year 2027, sports wagering has generated nearly $15.5 million for the state.
Since Maryland’s sports wagering program began in December 2021, nearly $288.7 million has been contributed to the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future Fund. An additional $36.4 million has gone to the General Fund, while approximately $5.75 million in expired prizes has been contributed to the Problem Gambling Fund.
