The search continues for Antoinette Forbes, a 53-year-old D.C. resident and former Montgomery County resident who has been missing since early September.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, Forbes was last seen around 3 p.m. Friday, September 4, in the 3200 block of Nebraska Avenue NW. She is described as an Asian woman who is 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighs approximately 115 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Her clothing at the time of her disappearance is unknown.
A GoFundMe established to support the search has raised more than $10,000. Organizers said the money will help cover search materials, transportation, public awareness efforts, legal counsel and other immediate expenses. Forbes’ sister, Aileen Forbes, is the fundraiser’s beneficiary.
According to 7News, a man with the same name and date of birth as the father of Forbes’ child was taken into custody in Beaver County, Pennsylvania. Jail officials confirmed Russell Ashford was in custody but did not disclose the charges, saying only that he was wanted elsewhere.
D.C. police have not publicly identified Ashford as a suspect or person of interest, and authorities have not confirmed that his arrest is connected to Forbes’ disappearance. Police have not announced an arrest in the missing-person investigation.
