The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will hold a virtual public hearing on Wednesday, October 7, at 6:30 p.m. to discuss the proposed Bowie Mill Road Bikeway, a 3.3-mile shared-use path along Bowie Mill Road between Muncaster Mill Road (MD 115) and Olney-Laytonsville Road (MD 108).
The project also includes a new pedestrian bridge over the Rock Creek North Branch and would connect existing trails with the Intercounty Connector Bike Path, Needwood Road Bike Path, Shady Grove Metrorail Station, Sequoyah Elementary School, Colonel Zadok Magruder High School and Olney Town Center.
During the hearing, MCDOT will present the project’s design, costs and schedule, answer questions and receive public testimony. Community feedback may influence the final design.
Online registration is required to attend. Residents may also submit written testimony through the project’s online feedback form or by emailing Project Manager Jean Kapusnick. Written testimony will carry the same weight as oral testimony. Interpreter services are available upon request by Wednesday, September 30.
