Two Montgomery County high schools will be featured on upcoming October episodes of WETA’s It’s Academic.
Sherwood High School in Sandy Spring will compete against West Springfield High School of Virginia and Georgetown Day School of Washington, DC, in an episode airing Saturday, October 17 at 10 a.m.
Quince Orchard High School in Gaithersburg will appear in the October 31 episode at 10 a.m., competing against Bishop Ireton High School of Alexandria and KIPP DC College Preparatory.
Now in its 66th season, It’s Academic features high school students from across the Washington region competing in a head-to-head academic quiz competition. The program is hosted by Emmy Award-winning journalist Hillary Howard and has been recognized by Guinness World Records as the world’s longest-running television quiz show.
The October episodes were recorded at WETA’s production studios in Shirlington. Episodes will also be available to stream on WETA+ and the WETA PBS YouTube channel.
