Caruso’s Grocery, which operates a location at Pike & Rose in North Bethesda, has been named one of Tom Sietsema’s five favorite dinners in DC for $25 or less.
The restaurant was included in Sietsema’s list of five restaurants that he says offer dining experiences that exceed what customers are paying. Caruso’s spaghetti and meatballs, priced at just under $25, was highlighted as the standout value. The dish features house-made pasta, meatballs, tomato sauce and Parmesan.
Sietsema also highlighted Caruso’s calamari, chicken parmesan and veal francaise, as well as its complimentary bread.
Caruso’s Grocery operates at 11820 Trade Street in Pike & Rose, where it debuted in late 2023. The Italian-American concept focuses on classic red sauce dishes, with a menu that includes Penne alla Vodka, Chicken Parmesan, Sole Francaise, Mozzarella en Carozza and Garlic Bread with Four Cheese Sauce.
The original Caruso’s Grocery is located in DC’s Hill East neighborhood.
Caruso’s was also named one of OpenTable’s “2025 Top 100 Restaurants” in the United States, making it the only Maryland or DC restaurant to appear on that list.
