A Hyattsville man won a $100,000 top prize on a Maryland Lottery scratch-off ticket purchased in Hillandale.
According to MD Lottery, the winner purchased the $10 High Voltage ticket at Hillandale Beer & Wine, located at 10117 New Hampshire Ave. He scratched the ticket at home and discovered that he had matched the number 49 to win $100,000 before returning to the store to scan the ticket and confirm the prize.
The man, an avid Lottery player who favors scratch-offs and Pick 4, said he immediately called family members to share the news. When he claimed the prize on September 23, he had not yet decided what to do with the winnings.
