Mango Mango Dessert will begin its soft opening at noon today, Thursday, September 24, at its new location in Congressional Plaza in Rockville.
The Asian dessert chain is opening at 1617 Rockville Pike, taking over the former Custom Ink space next to Häagen-Dazs. The opening marks a return to Montgomery County for Mango Mango, which previously operated at Downtown Crown in Gaithersburg from October 2019 until April 2021.
The soft opening comes one day before the start of a month of grand-opening promotions running from September 25 through October 18.
The first promotion runs September 25-27 and will offer buy-one, get-one free deals on select items, including Fresh Passionfruit Green Tea with Pulp, Coconut Mango Smoothies and Green Tea Mille Crêpe Cake. Additional weekly promotions will include gift card bonuses, free Alphonso Mango Ice Cream with any purchase and a free SpaceExplorer Cup with purchases over $25, while supplies last.
Founded in New York City’s Chinatown in 2013, Mango Mango Dessert specializes in Hong Kong-style sweet soups and mango desserts, along with smoothies, ice cream, pastries and other sweets.
