Montgomery County is accepting applications from groups interested in participating in the annual Montgomery County Thanksgiving Parade, which will take place Saturday, November 21, in Silver Spring.
The parade will step off at 10 a.m., with the route beginning at Ellsworth Drive and Fenton Street, continuing south along Georgia Avenue and concluding at Silver Spring Avenue.
Applications are being accepted from marching bands, floats, multicultural performance groups, dance troupes and other creative units. Thanksgiving, harvest and holiday-themed entries are particularly encouraged. The deadline to apply is Thursday, October 1.
The annual parade draws thousands of residents and visitors to Downtown Silver Spring and has previously featured large inflatable characters and balloons, costumed performers, baton twirlers and floats.
