The Montgomery County Office of Human Rights is now accepting nominations for its Human Rights Hall of Fame, which recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to advancing human and civil rights in Montgomery County.
Nominations will be accepted through Friday, October 23. Nominees may be living or deceased and should have made lasting contributions toward eliminating discrimination, promoting social justice and advancing civil rights in the county. A selection panel made up of previous Hall of Fame inductees will review the nominations and recommend individuals for induction.
The 2026 induction ceremony is scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday, November 8, at BlackRock Center for the Arts in Germantown.
This year marks the 14th biennial selection for the Human Rights Hall of Fame. The program was established in 2001 by former Office of Human Rights Director Odessa Shannon and has honored more than 100 individuals since its creation.
