Rockville to Hold Walk and Candlelight Vigil for Traffic Crash Victims

The Rockville Pedestrian Advocacy Committee will join city staff and elected officials for a neighborhood walk and candlelight vigil on Thursday, October 15, as part of Walktober.

The event will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m., beginning at the entrance to the Twinbrook Community Recreation Center at 12920 Twinbrook Parkway.

Participants will follow an approximately 1.25-mile route along sidewalks and neighborhood streets in Twinbrook before returning to the recreation center. During the walk, participants will learn about pedestrian initiatives, city projects and Rockville’s Vision Zero initiative, which aims to eliminate traffic-related deaths and serious injuries. A candlelight vigil will follow the walk to remember victims of traffic crashes.

The event will replace the Rockville Pedestrian Advocacy Committee’s regular monthly meeting.
