Woman and Daughter-in-Law Win $50,000 Lottery Prize

A Silver Spring woman and her daughter-in-law won a $50,000 Mega Millions prize, marking the second time in less than two years the pair has won $50,000 playing the Lottery.

The pair has continued playing the same numbers they originally received from a quick-pick ticket several years ago. For the September 18 drawing, their ticket matched four of the five white balls plus the Mega Ball for a $10,000 prize. A 5X Megaplier increased the winnings to $50,000.

The daughter-in-law later confirmed the win at the gas station at 8384 Colesville Road in Silver Spring, where the ticket was purchased.

The pair previously won a $50,000 Powerball prize in December 2024. They used those winnings to help family members and pay down debt and said they plan to use their latest prize similarly.
