Two Montgomery County High Schools Cancel Homecoming Dances Due to Low Ticket Sales

Two Montgomery County high schools have canceled their homecoming dances due to low ticket sales, according to FOX 5.

Northwest High School sold fewer than 200 tickets before the purchase deadline, while Quince Orchard High School sold just 63 tickets.

Northwest officials acknowledged the cancellation would be disappointing for students who had purchased tickets and made plans to attend. Students who purchased tickets will receive refunds. The cancellations apply only to the dances, with other homecoming festivities at both schools still scheduled to take place.

FOX 5 also reported that Thomas S. Wootton High School stopped holding traditional homecoming dances several years ago, replacing the dance with a carnival following the homecoming game.
