Gaithersburg Oktoberfest Canceled

The City of Gaithersburg has canceled its 33rd annual Oktoberfest, which was scheduled to take place Sunday, October 11, in Kentlands.

City officials announced the cancellation after monitoring weather forecasts and the remnants of an approaching tropical storm.

“After closely monitoring the evolving weather forecasts and the unpredictable remnants of the approaching tropical storm, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Oktoberfest,” the City announced.

The annual event was scheduled to run from noon to 5 p.m. throughout Kentlands, including the Arts Barn, Kentlands Mansion, Kentlands Village Green, Main Street and Inspiration Lane. The festival was expected to feature food and drink vendors, live entertainment, shopping, demonstrations, children’s activities and other programming.

This year’s Oktoberfest will not be rescheduled.
