Viral Flavor Hive Opens Latest DMV Location

Flavor Hive is continuing its rapid expansion with a new location opening in Stafford, Virginia, on Friday, October 9.

The halal fusion restaurant will open at 825 Wonder Road in Stafford, with doors opening at 11 a.m. The restaurant will celebrate its opening with a buy-one, get-one-free promotion.

Flavor Hive was co-founded by Montgomery County native and social media creator Shihan Chowdhury, known online as Chilipeppercooks, and business partner Amgd Gende. Chowdhury grew up in Germantown and graduated from Seneca Valley High School.

The concept began as a food truck in Alexandria in early 2024 and gained attention for its signature “walking” chip bags, which allow customers to bring in a bag of chips and have it loaded with halal proteins, toppings and sauces.

Flavor Hive later expanded into brick-and-mortar restaurants, beginning with a location in Annandale. The menu has also grown beyond the chip bags to include rice and salad bowls, loaded fries, pita pouches, quesadillas and other items.

In February, Flavor Hive opened its first Montgomery County restaurant at 5568 Randolph Road in the Montrose Shopping Center in Rockville. The brand has continued to expand throughout the region, with additional locations including Annandale, Alexandria, Waldorf and Georgetown.
