Maryland Announces Nearly $60 Million in Funding for Crime Victim Services

Maryland Governor Wes Moore and the Governor’s Office of Crime Prevention and Policy (GOCPP) announced nearly $60 million in Fiscal Year 2027 funding to support organizations providing services to crime victims across the state.

The funding will support survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse and other violent crimes through programs offering crisis intervention, counseling, legal advocacy, emergency shelter, court accompaniment and other direct services.

According to the Governor’s Office, six organizations are receiving funding for the first time as part of the FY27 awards, expanding access to victim services in communities throughout Maryland.

GOCPP received more than $81 million in funding requests from 144 organizations, exceeding the available funding by more than $20 million.

Governor Moore said the investment is intended to ensure victims have access to resources following incidents of violence, while GOCPP Executive Director Dorothy Lennig acknowledged that the demand for funding exceeded the amount available.https://gocpp.maryland.gov/grants/interactive-grant-map/
