Nordstrom Rack is preparing to celebrate the grand opening of its new location at Congressional Plaza in Rockville on Thursday, October 29, with festivities beginning at 8 a.m. ahead of the store’s official opening at 9 a.m.
The grand opening celebration will feature a local coffee cart, giveaways and other activities. Nordstrom Rack’s charity partner, Operation Warm, will also be on site for a special shopping experience benefiting local families. The retailer has donated more than $3 million to Operation Warm, helping provide over 119,000 coats to children nationwide.
The new 26,000-square-foot store is located at 1683 Rockville Pike, taking over the former Buy Buy Baby space at Congressional Plaza.
Nordstrom Rack is the off-price division of Nordstrom, offering discounted clothing, shoes, accessories, beauty products and home goods, with advertised savings of up to 70% off original prices. The new store will also offer online order pickup and accept returns from purchases made through Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack’s websites.
The Congressional Plaza location will be the retailer’s second store in Rockville. Its existing Nordstrom Rack on Shady Grove Road will remain open, with no changes to that location announced.
