A Silver Spring woman won $100,000 playing the same Pick 5 numbers she has used for years, according to the Maryland Lottery.
The woman, who works as a security specialist, purchased two $1 tickets at State Line Market on Eastern Avenue in Silver Spring for the September 27 midday and evening drawings. Both tickets featured her longtime combination, 62626, which matched the evening drawing and earned her two $50,000 prizes.
The winner discovered her good fortune the following evening while checking the Maryland Lottery app on her way home from work. “I had to pull over,” she recalled. After confirming both tickets were winners, she exclaimed, “Good God Almighty!”
The numbers hold special meaning to her, including her son’s birthday. She claimed her prize on October 14 and plans to invest some of the winnings and use a portion for home improvements. State Line Market will receive $1,000 in bonuses.
