The Montgomery County Commission for Women will host “Virtual Career Exploration for Her,” a free, interactive event for middle school, high school and college-aged students on Wednesday, October 21, from 7-8:30pm.
The virtual event will feature professional women sharing their educational backgrounds, career experiences and advice for students interested in pursuing careers in their respective fields. Panelists include Dorcus (Dee) W. Howard Richards, division chief with Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS); Kate Salvador, a lieutenant junior grade in the U.S. Navy; and Laura Lago-Garrido, director of architecture at ZDS Architecture & Interiors.
Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn about the education, skills and experience needed for various careers.
The event will take place via Zoom, and advance registration is required. Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) students who attend and complete a brief survey afterward are eligible to earn two Student Service Learning (SSL) hours.
